Paiporta's first 100% inclusive Summer School has concluded with 419 participants and an excellent average rating from families, consolidating a model that champions inclusion and work-life balance.
Paiporta's first 100% inclusive Summer School has closed its 2026 edition with a balance that the City Council considers a success. Between June 23 and July 31, a total of 419 children aged between 2 and 12 participated in activities that combined leisure, education, and family reconciliation.
The Deputy Mayor, Marian Val, and the Councillor for Education, Olga Sandrós, attended the closing day, where they shared impressions with the educational team. Sandrós highlighted that “when the doors of the Summer School close, what remains is much more than games or workshops. New friendships, shared experiences, families that have been able to reconcile during school holidays, and, above all, the confirmation that a fully inclusive summer school is possible.”
The project has catered to 40 participants with specific educational support needs, of which 8 required more specialised attention. To this end, the City Council provided a team of 47 monitors, of which 22 were inclusion specialists, in addition to two coordinators and intern staff, totalling 63 professionals.
The methodology, based on individualised attention and active participation, has allowed for the adaptation of activities to each child. Val emphasised that “making a 100% inclusive Summer School possible required significant planning and a specialised human team. The involvement of professionals has been crucial to adapt resources and ensure adequate attention for each girl and boy.”
The satisfaction surveys conducted at the end of the activity yielded an excellent average rating from families. The most valued aspects were the professionalism of the educational team, the positive atmosphere, and the commitment to inclusion, which has represented a qualitative leap compared to previous years.
The educational team has been multidisciplinary, with professionals in psychology, languages, performing arts, and sports activities, and held daily follow-up meetings. Communication with families was conducted through a specific Telegram channel throughout the month.
The Mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Ciscar, has highlighted the results of this first edition: “The Summer School represents very well the way we understand public services: resources designed to respond to the needs of families, with quality, proximity, and equal opportunities.”
With this balance, the City Council consolidates an offer that combines education, leisure, and reconciliation, reinforcing inclusion as a core element of municipal policies aimed at children. The expectation is that this experience will serve as a foundation for future editions, incorporating the proposals gathered in the surveys.
