The City Council of Paiporta has prepared reserved and adapted spaces for people with reduced mobility at the main events of the Sant Roc 2026 festivities, such as concerts, the mascletà, and the Entrance of Moors and Christians.
The City Council of Paiporta has arranged reserved and adapted zones for people with reduced mobility at the main events of the Sant Roc 2026 festivities. The measure aims to ensure that all citizens can participate on equal terms in a celebration that attracts thousands of residents and visitors.
The accessible spaces will be operational during orchestras and concerts, on the day of the eclipse, the Entrance of Moors and Christians, the mascletà, the fireworks display, and other mass activities in the programme. The location of each point has been planned according to the characteristics of the venue and the accessibility needs of each event.
The mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Císcar, emphasised that “Sant Roc should be a celebration shared by all of Paiporta.” In his opinion, “when we talk about building community, we also talk about ensuring that all people can participate and enjoy our festivities with the same opportunities.” Císcar has linked this effort to the Local Police and Civil Protection's deployment to ensure that “the citizens feel accompanied, safe, and attended to.”
The councillor for Social Welfare, Equality, and Public Health, Mª Jesús López, explained that “inclusion cannot be an add-on, but must be present from the planning of each activity.” Therefore, they have worked alongside the Espai department and municipal staff to adapt the spaces and set up the reserved areas.
The preparation has been carried out by the Espai department and municipal workers, who have adjusted the venues to ensure optimal access and visibility conditions. Additionally, during the festivities, a security deployment will be in place with the presence of Local Police and Civil Protection, attentive to the needs of attendees and any incidents.
This initiative is part of the festivities' slogan, “More enthusiasm, more heart, more Paiporta,” and continues the line of inclusive actions already implemented in the Volta a Peu, where a “Quiet Start” was introduced for children who need a less stimulating environment, as well as route maps to facilitate their participation.
With these measures, Paiporta reinforces its commitment to accessible and participatory festivities, ensuring that Sant Roc can be enjoyed by all citizens.
