El Nostre Bar in Alboraia awarded as one of the most sustainable bars on the Valencian coast

The establishment in Alboraia has been distinguished by Ecovidrio in the #MovimientoBanderasVerdes campaign, competing with nearly 3,000 hospitality businesses from 28 municipalities.

El Nostre Bar, located in Alboraia, has been recognised by Ecovidrio as one of the two most sustainable establishments on the Valencian coast. The award, part of the seventh edition of the #MovimientoBanderasVerdes campaign, rewards the commitment of local hospitality to the circular economy and proper waste management during the summer.

The bar competed with nearly 3,000 hospitality businesses from 28 municipalities and has been selected alongside BonAmb from Xàbia (Alicante). In total, over 12,000 establishments and 120 coastal towns from six autonomous communities participate in this initiative, which aims to highlight the environmental activism of the sector.

Sustainability is the core of El Nostre Bar's project. It has its own garden, allowing it to offer local products and tasting menus adapted to each season. Additionally, they compost organic waste and carry out sustainable actions two days a week: on Tuesdays, they act as a collection point for organic and local products, and on Wednesdays, they celebrate 'Earth Wednesday', delivering their orders exclusively by bicycle to reduce their carbon footprint.

The establishment has also collaborated in the creation of a recipe book featuring seasonal products from the Valencia garden and is part of sustainable projects such as Bizquert Paradise and La Fanecà.

As a prize, the awarded hospitality businesses will enjoy an exclusive master class and tasting led by chef Andrés Torres, who holds a Michelin Star, a Michelin Green Star, the Basque Culinary World Prize 2024, and a Repsol Sun.

For the residents of Alboraia, this recognition highlights a local establishment that champions sustainability and local products, a trend that is gaining traction in the region's hospitality sector. The award also reinforces the image of the municipality as a destination committed to the environment.
