The City Council of Alboraia will start in the coming days the replacement of waste bins planned in the new cleaning and collection contract, with the core of La Patacona as the first area to debut them.
The change also affects how bags are deposited. The new model is designed so that the lid does not need to be operated by hand: it is enough to push with the bag itself for it to open and leave the waste inside.
As this operates differently from the previous bins, the council recommends that neighbours, residents and visitors familiarize themselves with its use beforehand. A video published by the City Council simply shows how the new opening system works.
The renewal will not be limited to La Patacona. The new bins will also arrive in Port Saplaya, the traditional centre, and the orchard, as part of the gradual implementation of the new cleaning and waste collection service.
This contract represents a tripling of the investment, with more personnel, machinery, and equipment. The City Council appreciates the collaboration of the citizens during the replacement and adaptation process to the new bins.
