The Paiporta Town Council reports a positive outcome for the Sant Roc 2026 festivities, which brought together thousands of people without serious incidents and with enhanced security measures.
The Sant Roc 2026 festivities in Paiporta have come to an end with a balance that the Town Council describes as very positive. During the celebration days, thousands of people participated in a programme that combined tradition, culture, music, and children's activities, with the main venue being the new fairgrounds.
The mayor, Vicent Ciscar, thanked the work of associations, groups, musicians, artists, and municipal services, and emphasised that “Sant Roc 2026 has shown that Paiporta is eager to celebrate”. He also highlighted the responsibility and respect with which the festivities were enjoyed.
The deputy mayor, Marian Val, praised the coordination between municipal areas and services. “Organising festivities of this magnitude requires a lot of prior work and constant coordination,” she noted, assuring that the results encourage continued efforts in that direction.
Security and innovations
One of the key aspects of this year's festivities was the special security measures, with increased personnel and ongoing coordination between the Local Police, Civil Protection, and other bodies. No serious incidents occurred, and the measures ensured the normal development of events.
As a new feature, a surveillance drone was introduced, connected live with the coordination teams, which improved the monitoring of large gatherings of people.
The Violeta Point and the UPCCA Information Point were also consolidated, serving as reference spaces to provide information and support, reinforcing the commitment to more responsible and inclusive festivities.
The councillor for Culture, Esther Torrijos, highlighted the combination of tradition and new proposals, and reminded that this year Ana Guerra performed at the fairgrounds, as part of an initiative for free live music. Additionally, she praised the traditional Dog Festival, held on August 17, which, with its procession and the cremà of the Dog, closes the festive cycle.
The cleaning and maintenance services of Espai worked continuously to minimise the impact of the festivities and ensure that public spaces quickly returned to their usual state.
