The Bétera Town Council has requested to join the new Police Management Information System of the Generalitat, a digital platform that will enhance the coordination and response of the Local Police in emergencies.
The Bétera Town Council has formally requested its incorporation into the new Police Management Information System that the Department of Emergencies and Interior of the Valencian Generalitat has made available to municipalities. This platform, in Cloud/SaaS mode, will modernise the daily work of the Local Police and strengthen coordination with the Emergency Coordination Centre.
The mayor of Bétera, Elia Verdevío, has described the adhesion as "a fundamental step for the modernisation of the Local Police of Bétera, thanks to the commitment and investment that the Valencian Generalitat will make with this system that will allow us to respond better to any incident in our municipality and coordinate resources with the Emergency Centre."
Among the main tools that the system will include are real-time geolocation of patrols, automatic license plate and document readers (OCR), and digital management of complaints and reports connected to the DGT. Modules for managing violence against women, monitoring restraining orders, registering animals, lost property, and public space occupation are also contemplated, all under strict security and data protection protocols.
The Councillor for Citizen Security, Manuel Pérez, has stated that "this tool will represent a qualitative leap in the daily work of the staff. By sharing the same platform with the Generalitat and other municipalities, we gain interoperability with the Emergency Coordination Centre and ensure a faster and more connected service."
The adhesion will not incur any cost to the local budget, as the Generalitat fully assumes the financing of licenses, implementation, maintenance, and staff training. This initiative is part of the Modernisation and Improvement Plan for the Local Police of Bétera, which aims to professionalise the service and enhance the quality of life for residents.
The system will allow officers to work both from the headquarters and in public spaces using mobile devices, which will streamline administrative management and response capabilities in any emergency. With this request, the municipality reinforces its commitment to innovation in citizen security.
