The Town Council of Bétera has invested €10,723 in ten portable TETRA radios for its Local Civil Protection Group, aiming to enhance coordination in emergencies and at events such as the upcoming August Festivals.
The Town Council of Bétera has acquired ten new portable radios based on TETRA technology for its Local Civil Protection Group. The investment, amounting to €10,723.02, is part of the Modernisation and Improvement Plan for the Local Police of Bétera.
The new terminals will enable Civil Protection volunteers to have high-security encrypted communications (TEA2), real-time integrated GPS geolocation, and full compatibility with the official emergency response network of the Valencian Community, the COMDES network.
The Mayor of Bétera, Elia Verdevío, highlighted that this action is “a fundamental investment to ensure the protection of residents. Equipping Civil Protection with advanced technology tools is essential for responding to any emergency, as well as for coordinating with other bodies at large events, such as the imminent August Festivals in our municipality.”
The devices strictly meet the technical requirements set by the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response (AVSRE), ensuring their direct integration into the COMDES network. This official network guarantees coverage and interoperability between Civil Protection, the Local Police, and other security bodies during operations.
The radios include audio encryption, a combined TETRA/GPS antenna, high-capacity batteries with dual chargers, and IP54 waterproof and dustproof certification. This ensures their operation in complex operational environments or during adverse weather conditions.
The Councillor for Police, Civil Protection, and Interior, Manuel Pérez, emphasised that this investment “responds to a commitment to improve and modernise the infrastructure and equipment of our volunteer body and Local Police, providing them with cutting-edge tools to have an optimal response capacity in any emergency.”
The acquisition has been designed to integrate with the specialised audio equipment already used by the group, allowing for the immediate implementation of an advanced communication system, optimising municipal resources. With this new equipment, the Town Council of Bétera reaffirms its commitment to prevention and care throughout the municipality, also improving coordination at large events.
