Valencia's municipal educational offerings conclude the 2025/2026 academic year with 57,385 students and 3,305 teachers, a 3.5% increase from the previous year. The area of inclusive education and coeducation is the most in demand.
Participation in Valencia's municipal educational projects has reached a historic figure this year: 57,385 students and 3,305 teachers from schools within the municipal area have taken part in one of the seven thematic areas that make up the City Council's offerings. This is nearly 2,000 more students than last year, when 55,457 were counted.
The Councillor for Education, Rocío Gil, has assessed the data as a sign that schools view this programming as an integrated tool in the classroom rather than a one-off activity. "This year's balance confirms that educational centres see the municipal programming as a useful tool for the daily life of the classroom and not as a one-off activity," she stated.
The offerings are structured into seven blocks ranging from environmental protection to coeducation, knowledge of the city, or artistic creation. The area with the most participation has been inclusive education and coeducation, with 15,500 students and 900 teachers, accounting for more than a quarter of all participation.
Following closely are built city, lived city, with 13,631 students and 712 teachers, and environmental protection and biodiversity, with 13,627 students and 620 teachers. "These three areas have concentrated 74% of the participating students, which helps and guides us in continuing to work on complementary teaching activities for the upcoming courses," explained Gil.
The rest of the programming completes the map: Educ-art, dedicated to artistic and cultural education, has brought together 6,058 students and 599 teachers; the Educational Innovation Projects have involved 4,100 students and 250 teachers; the València Municipal programme, focused on the functioning of local administration, has engaged 2,357 participants and 109 teachers; and the area of participation and defence of citizens' rights has included 2,112 students and 115 teachers.
For the upcoming academic year, the application period to participate in the municipal projects is open until September 13, and activities will begin in classrooms on September 28.
