The inaugural proclamation marked the beginning of a weekend full of cultural and festive activities. The new fairground on José Segrelles Street, featuring association booths, was launched with a concert by Funambulista.
The Sant Roc 2026 festivities are now underway in Paiporta. The municipality has experienced its first days of celebration with a programme that has filled the streets and squares with cultural, sporting, and festive activities, with local associations and groups as the main protagonists.
On Friday, the traditional inaugural parade, organised by the Coordinating Board of Moorish and Christian Comparsas, led to the official proclamation. The mayor, Vicent Císcar, invited all citizens to enjoy festivities based on coexistence and thanked the Board for their involvement.
The captains of the Almogàvers comparsa, Marta García Galán and Maria Tarazona Andreu, were the stars of the night, with a visual, musical, and light show on the façade of the Town Hall. The day concluded with the traditional Sant Roc Concert by the Paiporta Musical Union.
On Saturday, the Fira de l'Aigua, a Dancefit masterclass, the blessing of vehicles, and the correfoc were celebrated, before the inauguration of the new fairground on José Segrelles Street, where local associations set up their booths. The concert by Funambulista was the highlight of the day.
Sunday continued with the Water and Foam Festival, the XXXVI Children's Foot Race, the Dansà de Sant Roc, and the Nit de Sarau. The weekend closed with a grand Nit Remember at the new fairground, featuring performances by Rafa Sánchez of La Unión and OBK.
On Monday, the little ones enjoyed the traditional Melonet Festival, with the making of melons and a parade organised by the dance group l'Espolí. The Coordinating Board, along with members of the government team and the corporation, visited the homes of neighbours who received the singers and performers of the albaes in the 'Festa a casa'. The day ended with the first orchestra of the festivities, the La Pato orchestra, at the fairground.
The Town Hall has highlighted the role of the Punto Violeta, the UPCCA, the Local Police with a reinforced special device that includes a surveillance drone, Civil Protection, and the Civil Guard, as well as the workers of Espai for cleaning, assembly, and maintenance. "The responsibility of everyone is making it possible for the new fairground to be a safe, inclusive, and communal space for all citizens," stated Mayor Vicent Císcar.
The deputy mayor, Marian Val, has praised the participation of the associative fabric: "We are seeing how Sant Roc is able to bring all of Paiporta together. All associations have their space and are demonstrating, with their activities and booths, the enormous work behind these festivities."
The councillor for Culture, Esther Torrijos, emphasised the collective responsibility: "Festivities are for enjoyment, but they also require responsibility, respect, and civility. We want to thank all citizens for their behaviour during this first weekend, which has taken place without incidents."
For her part, the councillor for Police, Susana Moreno, highlighted the security measures: "We have implemented a special device for these festivities, especially at the new fairground, with the coordination of the Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection, and other involved services."
The councillor for General Administration, Miguel Ángel Ortiz, has thanked the work of municipal public services and Espai. Additionally, the councillor for Social Welfare has highlighted the spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility in all relevant activities.
With the slogan 'More enthusiasm, more heart, more Paiporta', Sant Roc 2026 continues with a programme that will combine music, tradition, culture, sport, and citizen participation over the coming days.
