Oliva celebrates the patronal festivities in honour of the Mare de Déu del Rebollet from 30 August to 8 September, featuring religious events, concerts, and the traditional pilgrimage.
The Oliva Town Hall has announced the programme of events for the patronal festivities of the Mare de Déu del Rebollet, which will take place from 30 August to 8 September. The programme kicks off on Sunday 30 with the general ringing of bells and the launching of rockets at 1 PM, followed by the novena and the Eucharist in honour of the patroness.
The novena will be held daily at 7:45 PM and the Eucharist at 8 PM, with preaching by D. Marcos Senabre Cloquell, rector of the Parròquia de Sant Antoni Màrtir. The mass will be sung by the Santa Maria Parish Choir, with organist D. Josep Malonda Sanchís.
On Saturday 29 August, the Day of the Transfer and the Proclamation will take place, with the albà from the plaza de l’Església de Santa Maria at 9 AM. At 10 PM, the traditional transfer of the image from its shrine to the church will occur, followed by the greeting to the Virgin.
On Friday 4 September, the Day of the Festivities Boards and the kissing of the hands will be celebrated, with a popular dinner at 10 PM in the plaza de Santa Maria. On Saturday 5, dedicated to children and young people, there will be activities for the little ones from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the Saturday greeting at 7:30 PM, and a concert by the Coral Santa Cecília at 10:30 PM.
Sunday 6 September is the Day of Families, with the traditional pilgrimage at 8 AM. On Monday 7, Day of the Offering, solemn vespers will be celebrated at 7:30 PM and the Cant de l’Aurora through the streets at 11 PM.
On Tuesday 8 September, the main day, a solemn mass will take place at 7 PM, followed by the procession and the transfer of the image from the plaza de l’Església. The festivities for 2026 will conclude with a fireworks display by Pirotècnia Borredà.
