The Paiporta Town Council has implemented a reinforcement of preventive tasks due to the orange alert for torrential rain affecting the region. The work focuses on public drains, aiming to ensure that water can evacuate properly in case of heavy rainfall.
The maintenance service of Espai, the company responsible for these tasks, is currently working on the water collection points within the municipal device. These tasks complement the periodic actions carried out by Global Omnium on the sewage network, as well as the improvement and renewal works being developed globally to optimise the sanitation and drainage system of the municipality.
On the morning of this Thursday, the CECOPAL was held to monitor the alert, where priorities for action were established and coordination between the various involved services was strengthened. The Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection maintain surveillance tasks alongside Espai personnel to act on potential incidents and prioritise areas requiring intervention.
The council reminds that prevention is paramount in the face of episodes of heavy rain. The device will remain active as long as the orange alert is in place, aiming to minimise risks and ensure the safety of residents.
Citizens are advised to exercise extreme caution when travelling and to avoid flood-prone areas. In case of any incidents, emergency services can be contacted via 112.
