The Paiporta City Council has added five agricultural workers to maintain the ravine and rural paths for three months, with an investment of €39,886 from the SEPE Agrario programme.

The Paiporta City Council has hired five unemployed workers from the agricultural sector to strengthen cleaning, brush clearing, and conservation efforts in the ravine and rural paths of the municipality over the next three months. The initiative, managed by the Department of Economy, Employment, and Training, is funded by a grant of €39,886 from the Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme (SEPE Agrario), which covers salaries and social contributions.

The new hires will focus on keeping rural spaces and the ravine's channel in good condition, aiming to prevent blockages during weather events and ensure the safety and accessibility of agricultural paths. These tasks complement the regular work carried out by the municipal public company ESPAI and the periodic actions of the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation in the channel.

The mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Ciscar, stated that "the conservation of the ravine and rural paths is a priority for the City Council because we are talking about essential infrastructures for both safety and agricultural activity, as well as the natural environment of the municipality." He also highlighted that this action "demonstrates how collaboration between administrations can generate employment while simultaneously improving public services and the preventive capacity of Paiporta."

For his part, the councillor for Economy, Employment, and Training, José Antonio Redondo, emphasized the dual value of the programme: "On one hand, we offer a job opportunity to unemployed individuals in the agricultural sector, and on the other, we reinforce essential actions for the maintenance of the municipality." Redondo added that these jobs "complement the effort that the City Council makes throughout the year to keep the rural environment and the ravine in good condition, especially in a context where prevention and maintenance are fundamental."

The hiring is part of a continuous maintenance strategy aimed at preserving both the ravine and the rural areas of the municipality. With this measure, the council aims to enhance the preventive capacity of the municipality and provide job opportunities for unemployed agricultural workers.
