The Museros Town Council has incorporated seven unemployed individuals this summer for cleaning and maintenance tasks in the rural environment, with an investment of €40,269.
The Museros Town Council has launched an agricultural employment plan that has allowed for the hiring of seven unemployed individuals to work on the conservation of the rural spaces in the municipality. The hiring began on July 1 and will continue until the end of September.
The initiative is funded by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) through the 2026 Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme for depressed rural areas. In total, two grants have been awarded, amounting to €40,269 in investment, framed within the 'Conservation and improvement of rural roads I and II' programme.
The hired workers are carrying out cleaning, clearing, and maintenance tasks on rural paths, roads, trails, and other spaces within the municipality. These tasks aim to improve the state of the infrastructure, enhance safety during travel, and reduce the accumulation of dry vegetation, a key factor during the months of higher fire risk.
The Mayor of Museros and Councillor for Agriculture, Cristina Civera, has highlighted that caring for the rural environment "requires constant attention, especially during the summer, when high temperatures make it necessary to reinforce cleaning and prevention tasks." She also noted that the programme "allows us to act more intensively on paths and agricultural spaces while generating job opportunities for people in the municipality."
These initiatives provide more paid work experience to unemployed individuals and, at the same time, result in improvements that benefit the entire population," stated the Councillor for Employment, Laura Brisa.
With this action, the council is committed to the conservation of agricultural heritage and to policies that combine job creation with the improvement of public services and spaces. Residents will be able to notice the results in the improved condition of the paths and in fire prevention over the coming months.
