The upcoming solar eclipse, one of the most anticipated astronomical phenomena of the year, will be fully visible from L'Eliana. The municipality is located within the band where the Moon will completely cover the Sun, a spectacle that will last only a few minutes and requires extreme precautions to protect one's eyesight.
According to data provided by the Town Hall, the eclipse will begin at 19:38:17 hours. The totality phase, during which the Sun will be completely obscured, will start at 20:32:23 hours and will last until 20:33:27 hours, with the maximum expected at 20:32:55 hours.
In light of this astronomical event, the Generalitat has decreed the closure of natural parks, including Bosc de la Vallesa, which is part of the Parc Natural del Túria. This measure aims to prevent overcrowding and ensure safety during the phenomenon.
To observe the eclipse safely, it is essential to use glasses specifically designed for solar observation that comply with the ISO 12312-2 standard. Before using them, it is advisable to check that they are in good condition and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
The Town Hall reminds that adults should pay special attention to children during the observation, supervising the correct use of the glasses at all times. During the brief period of totality, when the Moon completely covers the bright surface of the Sun, the phenomenon can be observed without solar glasses. However, as soon as any bright part of the Sun reappears, it will be necessary to put them back on immediately.
Therefore, it is particularly important to keep an eye on the progression of the eclipse and to follow official instructions at all times. The eclipse will last a few minutes, but eyes are for a lifetime.
