The Llíria City Council is processing the contract to improve nearly 5 kilometres of forest track in the Mas de Moya area, in the heart of La Concordia. The work, fully funded by aid, aims to facilitate access for fire-fighting vehicles.
The Llíria City Council has initiated the contracting of works to improve about 5 kilometres of forest track in the Mas de Moya area, a road that starts practically at the irrigation channel of the Canal Principal and delves into the La Concordia mountain.
This was announced by the councillor for Sustainable Mobility and Roads, Paco García, who explained that the work will consist of cleaning the edges, levelling the surface, and consolidating the track with natural aggregates. The aim is to make the road more passable and allow the circulation of fire-fighting vehicles in case of fire.
The action will be fully funded by the aid lines of the Strategic Plan for Forest Management and Fire Prevention. With this intervention, the council continues to develop the actions outlined in the Local Plan for Forest Fire Prevention, which has already allowed for progressive action on the main accesses to La Concordia, with the collaboration of the Valencia Provincial Council and the Generalitat.
The councillor also wanted to highlight the work of the Municipal Roads Brigade, which clears more than 160 kilometres of paved rural tracks each year. According to García, these additional actions in La Concordia strengthen preventive management against the risk of fires.
The Llíria City Council reminds that the collaboration of landowners remains key: they are asked to keep their land clean to facilitate surveillance, prevention, and fire-fighting efforts.
