The Town Hall of Sueca has begun the repair and improvement of over 10 kilometres of rural roads and forest tracks, fully funded by a grant of €13,452.78 from the Generalitat.
The Town Hall of Sueca has initiated the repair and improvement works on several rural roads and forest tracks within the municipality, thanks to a grant of €13,452.78 awarded by the Valencian Generalitat through the Strategic Municipal Fund for Fire Prevention and Forest Management for the 2026 financial year.
The works commenced on August 12 and focus on improving the condition of the roads included in the subsidised actions, with the dual aim of facilitating their conservation and maintenance and reinforcing access conditions and fire prevention.
The works involve the addition of gravel followed by spreading and compaction. They are being carried out by the Municipal Agricultural Council of Sueca, through the Roads Department, using its own resources, both machinery and personnel, once the necessary materials have been supplied.
The actions include the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Joques, Esquerre de l'Albarzeret, Baix, Bassals, Albarzeret, and Alter dels Bassals roads, all included in the Local Fire Prevention Plan. Together, they cover 10.27 kilometres of rural pathways.
The regional grant fully funds the eligible actions, with no municipal financial contribution required. The purpose of these grants is to finance fire prevention and forest management actions outlined in the planning instruments approved by the municipalities.
The mayor of Sueca, Julián Sáez, has highlighted the importance of continuing to act on the network of rural roads and forest tracks in the municipality “both to improve their conservation and accessibility and to strengthen fire prevention and land management actions.
According to Sáez, with this action “Sueca continues to advance in the maintenance of its rural roads and in the improvement of the infrastructures linked to the rural and forest areas of the municipality.”
The ongoing works will directly benefit residents and farmers who use these roads daily, improving safety and accessibility in the rural environment of Sueca.
