L'Eliana's July council meeting greenlit the new accessibility ordinance, the local waste plan, and the tender for park and garden maintenance with more staff and sustainable machinery.
The L'Eliana Town Council held its ordinary plenary session on July 30, with a package of agreements that directly affect coexistence, social welfare, and the safety of the municipality. Among the most relevant points, the new Municipal Accessibility Ordinance was approved, aimed at eliminating barriers in the daily lives of people with reduced mobility.
The regulation, along with the new Local Waste Management Plan, has been developed through an active citizen participation process. Regarding public spaces, the tender for the maintenance service of parks and gardens was also approved, which will have more staff and more sustainable machinery.
In anticipation of exceeding 20,000 inhabitants by 2026, the Social Services area approved a one-year extension of the Zonal Strategic Plan to prepare for the transition to new specific primary care responsibilities (EEIIA, SASEM, ADI). Additionally, two key regulations were approved: one to organise the Organisational, Social Intervention, and Benefits Assessment committees, ensuring interdisciplinarity, equality, and agility in approving emergency aid; and another to regulate the Home Help Service (SAD), establishing objective criteria for assessment, rights, and protection for both users and staff.
In the environmental realm, a motion was approved for the protection of the Vallesa and the Turia Natural Park. The measure includes the automatic closure of access to the forest in situations of extreme fire risk, accompanied by signage indicating the corresponding prohibitions.
Other agreements from the plenary included, unanimously, the request to the Generalitat for the adjustment of annual payments of the EDIFICANT Plan and the decommissioning of the surplus plot on Les Roses street. The modification of credits 25/2026, the General Account for 2025, the Professional Career Regulation for municipal staff, and the adhesion to the Valencian Fund for Solidarity were also approved.
Residents will notice the changes in the coming months: the new accessibility ordinance will be applied in works and public spaces, and the reinforcement of park and garden maintenance will improve the condition of green areas. The automatic closure of the Vallesa will be activated when the Generalitat declares an extreme fire risk, a measure aimed at protecting both the forest and the people.
