The Local Police of Alaquàs has repainted pedestrian crossings and stop signs at several intersections in the municipality, including the Bovalar industrial estate.
The Alaquàs City Council has completed a campaign to renew horizontal and vertical signage at different points in the municipality, aiming to enhance road safety for both pedestrians and drivers. The work, carried out by the Local Police's Signage Unit, has focused on areas with high traffic and pedestrian flow.
One of the most notable actions has been the repainting of the pedestrian crossing located at the intersection of Sant Rafael street with País Valencià avenue. This is a point with a high volume of foot traffic, where visibility at the crossing has been improved to reduce the risk of accidents.
The horizontal signage of the stop sign at the intersection of Santa Anna and Lanjarón streets has also been renewed. This intervention aims to ensure that drivers perceive the right of way more clearly, a measure that helps to regulate traffic at an intersection with frequent vehicle movement.
The Bovalar industrial estate has been another site of this campaign. There, the stop sign at the intersection between Travessera del Bovalar and Baix Segura street has been repainted, an area with significant industrial activity and constant heavy vehicle traffic. The improvement of signage in this environment aims to prevent accidents in a zone with high potential for incidents.
At the intersection of Costera and els Ports streets, a more comprehensive action has been carried out. The work has included repainting direction arrows, pedestrian crossings, and the stop sign, as well as correcting the orientation of the vertical signage. The result is better traffic management and safer circulation in an area where several flows converge.
In the urban environment, two pedestrian crossings have also been renewed at the confluence of Hort de Sant Josep and Sant Lluís Gonzaga streets. Taking advantage of this work, the existing vertical signage, which had deteriorated significantly over time, has been replaced. This dual intervention ensures that both road markings and vertical signs function correctly.
The campaign has not been limited to road painting. In the vicinity of the Municipal Market, specifically on Vicent Andrés Estellés and Santa Anna streets, new vertical S-13 signs have been installed, indicating the presence of pedestrian crossings. This measure increases the visibility of crossings and encourages more attentive driving by motorists, especially in an area with a high influx of shoppers.
With this set of actions, the Local Police's Signage Unit in Alaquàs continues to work on the ongoing improvement of road safety. The maintenance of signage and the protection of pedestrians and drivers are priority objectives for the council, which seeks to make the municipality a safer and more accessible place for all citizens.
These interventions are part of a continuous maintenance plan that is carried out throughout the year.
