The municipality has presented the complete programme for its major festivities, which will take place from September 10 to 20 with concerts, traditional events, and tributes.
Tavernes de la Valldigna is all set for its major festivities of 2026. The mayor, Lara Romero, and the Councillor for Festivities, Carlos Torres, presented the full programme this Saturday, which will unfold from September 10 to 20. Eleven days during which the Safor locality will combine concerts, traditional events, shows for all audiences, and very special tributes.
The traditional opening will be given by the opening speech, which this year will be delivered by the Senior Citizens' Theatre Group. This will be a preview of a programme designed for both locals and visitors to find proposals for all tastes and ages.
One of the highlights will arrive on Friday, September 11, with a free concert by La Casa Azul in the main square. Afterwards, the party will continue with a DJ session by Totote. Music will be the star throughout the weekend, with the charanga contest celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday 12, and the musical show Kronos that same night.
On Sunday 13, the municipality will be filled with colour with the decorated streets contest. Additionally, the Instructive Musical Society of Tavernes will offer an emotional tribute to Nino Bravo with the collaboration of four guest voices.
The second week of festivities will maintain the rhythm. On Tuesday 15, local dance schools will showcase their talent on the stage of the main square. On Wednesday, the show España en un Suspiro will take a journey through the great artists of Spanish music. Thursday 17 will be a day dedicated to the elderly, featuring a giant paella from Galbis and a musical tribute to Isabel Pantoja in the evening.
The paella night on Friday 18 will be enlivened by the Scream orchestra, while on Saturday 19, the Montecarlo orchestra will set the rhythm for the costume night. Two events that will once again fill the main square with tradition and music.
The younger ones also have their space. On Saturday 12, there will be a Remember party and a Bendita Locura party, and on Saturday 19, the Grand Youth Party will take place, featuring several DJs and gift giveaways. For the little ones, the programme includes activities such as La Colla Pirata (Sunday 13), the Children's Costume Dance on Thursday 17 with the performance A Xalar by Trobadorets, or the children's theatre WOOOW on Sunday 20.
The more traditional aspect will be present with events such as the descent and ascent of the Christ of the Blood, the procession of the Divine Aurora, or the offering to the Virgin of Lourdes. The festivities will conclude on Sunday 20 with the show La Pepa by Pepa Cases, and the traditional fireworks display in the main square.
The 2026 Festival Book will be available from Monday, August 3, at the Tavernes de la Valldigna Town Hall and also at the beach Tourist Office. This edition is particularly significant because its cover pays tribute to the La Valldigna Scout Group, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and to the Red Cross.
The mayor, Lara Romero, has highlighted that "we have prepared a very complete programme so that everyone, regardless of age, can feel the festivities as their own. We wanted to combine great concerts and shows with more traditional events, so that our festivities continue to be a space for meeting, coexistence, and pride in our town."
Romero also wanted to emphasise the special significance of the festival book: "Its cover is a well-deserved tribute to the La Valldigna Scout Group, which this year celebrates fifty years of instilling values, solidarity, and commitment to our town. They are part of our history and the collective identity of Tavernes."
The Councillor for Festivities, Carlos Torres, insisted that the programme is the result of much dedication: "We put a lot of enthusiasm and effort into planning activities, both those that are already tradition and the new proposals. We want all residents to find reasons to go out and enjoy the festivities." Torres thanked the collaboration of the town's associations and all the people who make this annual event possible.
