Bétera to launch 21 protected homes under the VIVE Plan after two decades

The Generalitat will build 21 protected homes in Bétera after the transfer of a municipal plot. The project ends over 20 years without such promotions.

The Generalitat will build 21 public protected homes in Bétera thanks to the transfer of a municipal plot. The project, framed within the VIVE Plan, breaks over 20 years without new promotions of this type in the municipality.

The first vice president and councillor for Housing, Susana Camarero, has announced the construction of 21 public protected homes in Bétera, as part of the Generalitat's VIVE Plan. The announcement was made after visiting the plot ceded by the City Council, accompanied by the mayor, Elia Verdevío.

This is a municipal plot of 1,254 square meters, located in sector R-3, on Vicent Andrés Estellés street. With the signing of the deed, the land passes to the Valencian Housing and Land Entity (EVHA) to develop the promotion.

The councillor highlighted the collaboration of the municipalities as a key piece to expand the residential offer. “Without the willingness and agility of the municipalities to make their own land available, it would be impossible to expand the much-needed residential offer at this time,” she stated.

The VIVE Plan aims to increase the supply of protected housing, both public and private, by mobilising public land and adapting the regulatory framework to facilitate construction at affordable prices. The transfer of this plot turns “unused municipal land into active resources,” according to Camarero.

The Bétera Plenary already agreed in July to the free transfer of the land to the EVHA, under the agreement signed between the Generalitat and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), to which 321 municipalities are affiliated. The mayor has expressed gratitude for the “commitment to Bétera, after more than 20 years without public protected housing in the municipality.”

Verdevío emphasised that this initiative “represents a very significant step to facilitate access to housing in Bétera, especially for young people and families.” The promotion will join other actions of the VIVE Plan in the Valencian Community.

The Bétera City Council and the Generalitat have not yet specified the construction schedule or the final price of the homes, although the aim of the plan is to offer rental or purchase at affordable prices. Interested parties should keep an eye on upcoming calls from the EVHA.
