The new residential area that will grow next to the El Osito shopping centre in L'Eliana is nearing its final stages. The urbanisation works are already 90% executed and are expected to conclude during the last quarter of this year, according to the Town Hall.
What remains to be completed are the electrical connections and landscaping work. From that moment on, building permits can be processed for the future buildings.
The initiative, driven by a private investment of around 3.7 million euros, will provide the area with streets, services, and public spaces. In total, about 430 new homes are expected to be built, of which 60% will be officially protected (HPO).
The project includes gardens, green areas, bike lanes, signage, and urban furniture. Space is also reserved for a future expansion of the local institute.
The mayor, Salva Torrent, has highlighted that this initiative will significantly increase the residential area and, especially, the supply of affordable housing in L'Eliana, in a context where accessing a home is a challenge for many families, particularly for young people.
Increasing the supply of HPO is essential for more people to be able to stay living here and access housing at a more affordable price," he concluded.
For the residents, the arrival of these homes will mean an expansion of the residential park of the municipality and an opportunity to access affordable housing in an already established area. The completion of the works is expected in the coming months, clearing the way for developers to begin the urban planning procedures.
