The City Council of València has launched a web section with schedules, observation points, safety recommendations, and transport for the eclipse on August 12, visible from the beaches of Cabanyal and Malva-rosa.
The City Council of València has implemented a specific section on its website with all the practical information about the solar eclipse that will be visible in the city next Wednesday, August 12. The phenomenon will begin at 19:38 and reach its peak at 20:32, when the sun will be almost completely obscured.
The municipal website gathers schedules, the official observation point set up on the beaches of Cabanyal and Malva-rosa, recommendations for protecting eyesight, and public transport options to the area. It also includes an agenda section with related activities, such as the immersive exhibition 'Experience the eclipse from space', which can already be visited at Las Naves.
The municipal setup on the northern beaches will include an information point, toilets, and bins, as well as the presence of Local Police, Firefighters, Red Cross, and Civil Protection. A violet point will also be installed to prevent sexist assaults during the gathering.
To reach the observation point, the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) will reinforce bus lines 18, 19, 31, 32, 92, 93, 95, 98, and 99, which will take attendees to the beaches at the time of the eclipse.
The website emphasizes the need to use certified glasses that meet the ISO 12312-2 2015 standard, as looking directly at the sun can cause serious and irreversible eye damage. It also offers advice on how to protect minors and how to safely photograph the phenomenon.
The section answers more than a dozen frequently asked questions, including those related to activities in L'Albufera that day. According to the City Council, all boat rides and other proposals will continue, but it will be necessary to access the park before 18:00, when the closure of the CV-500 is scheduled. Those with a contracted activity with an organizing company must confirm the schedules and access conditions in advance.
Additionally, the General Directorate of Disability of the City Council has published two easy-to-read documents —in Spanish and Valencian— that simply explain the eclipse, how to protect one's eyesight, the schedule, the location of the observation point, and the available bus lines.
