The initiative, which stems from research by David Jorge García, a professor at the Universitat Politècnica de València and a resident of the municipality, also includes the protection of the Sant Antoni Ora Pro Nobis bell as a Local Relevance Asset.
The Cant de la Carxofa, a tradition linked to the major festivities in honour of the Santíssim Crist de la Pietat, will thus receive recognition that reinforces its historical, artistic, and identity value. The recovery of this cultural manifestation has been a sustained effort over the past few years, and now the council is taking on the processing before the Generalitat for its official protection.
The Romeria de Sant Pere al Port, for its part, will consolidate its institutional recognition as a celebration tied to Catarroja's maritime history and its relationship with the Albufera.
