Valencia City Council has awarded the contract to the company Tomás Llavador Arquitectos e Ingenieros, SL to draft the technical intervention project for the envelope of Mercat de Russafa, as well as the technical direction of the future works. The service has been contracted for €34,630.20 and will last for eight months from the day after formalisation, with no possibility of extension.
A total of 13 companies participated in the public tender, reflecting the sector's interest in this action. The commission will allow for the technical definition of the necessary actions to rehabilitate the building's exterior envelope, including the replacement of all windows, complete painting of the facade, and repair of the leaks detected in the external stalls.
The contract covers both the preparation of the technical document that will specify the intervention and the technical direction during the execution of the works. In this way, the council promotes the necessary preliminary phase to undertake the external improvement of the building with technical criteria and subsequently coordinate the development of the works.
Modernisation of the market
The future rehabilitation of the facade is part of the set of investments promoted by the City Council to update Mercat de Russafa and reinforce its role as a local commercial space. This line of work includes improvements in air conditioning, ventilation, waterproofing, fire protection, lighting, and access, as well as the adaptation of the pavement.
