The L'Eliana Town Hall supervises the works on the bridge and walkways over the Mandor ravine, with an investment of €525,385. The project will conclude in October.
The mayor of L'Eliana, Salva Torrent, and the councillor for Major Projects, Marta Andrés, visited the refurbishment works on Thursday for the bridge and walkways over the Mandor ravine. The work began in March and is expected to finish in October.
The project, with an investment of €525,385 funded by a grant from the Valencia Provincial Council, includes the structural rehabilitation and functional adaptation of the concrete bridge on General Pastor Avenue. It also involves the renewal of the two pedestrian metal walkways that connect both banks of the ravine: one next to the bridge itself and another in the area of the Siesta bridge, both of which have already been completed.
As for the concrete bridge, the structural rehabilitation is already finished. The current work focuses on the construction of a four-metre-wide cycle and pedestrian path, as well as the installation of railings and the execution of the finishes. The project will be completed with the subsequent urbanisation of the surrounding area.
Torrent described the project as “key for the municipality” and highlighted that the renovation works will also allow for “progress towards safer and more sustainable mobility.” With this intervention, the residents of L'Eliana will gain an accessible and comfortable space to cross the ravine on foot or by bicycle, improving the connection between both banks.
The forecast is that the works will conclude next October, when the bridge and walkways will be fully operational for public use.
