The City Council of Alzira has installed benches, bike racks, picnic tables, chess tables, and a ping-pong table in the Parc dels Furs, the Pineda del Malecó, and the Mirador del Xúquer, funded by aid from the Generalitat for DANA.

Residents of Alzira can now enjoy new urban furniture designed for leisure and relaxation in three heavily used public spaces. The initiative has been financed through a grant awarded to the Ribera Consortium under the Decree 63/2025 of the Council, which regulates urgent aid to municipalities affected by DANA.

The new equipment includes 5 benches, 3 bike racks, 9 picnic tables (two of which are accessible), 2 chess tables, and 1 ping-pong table. They have been distributed among the Parc dels Furs —next to the petanque courts—, the Pineda del Malecó, and the area of the Mirador del Xúquer.

From the Department of Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition of the City Council of Alzira, it has been explained that with the addition of these infrastructures, the provision is expanded and the available furniture for outdoor leisure is diversified. The grant is part of the aid from the Consell aimed at the recovery and rehabilitation of infrastructures and tourist resources, as well as the implementation of measures for the mitigation and prevention of future climate risks.

With this initiative, the council aims to enhance leisure, sports, and recreational opportunities in three green areas frequently visited by the public. The work has already been completed, and the furniture is available for users.
