The Alaquàs City Council has received a grant of €32,000 from European funds to acquire four electric vehicles and a lift cart for urban services.
The Alaquàs City Council has expanded its fleet of municipal vehicles with the addition of four new electric vehicles and a lift cart, an operation that has been supported by a €32,000 grant from the NextGenerationEU funds. The aid is part of the MOVES III programme, managed by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) and financed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge through the IDAE.
The Mayor of Alaquàs, Toni Saura, and the Councillor for Urban Services, Sebastián Ruiz, have supervised the reception of the new vehicles to check their operation firsthand. With this acquisition, the council continues its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly transport, according to municipal sources.
The four vehicles will be distributed among various municipal services, each adapted to the specific needs of the tasks they will perform. Thus, a two-seater vehicle with a closed box will be allocated to the tyre, carpentry, and building cleaning service.
For the works service, a three-seater vehicle with an open box has been acquired, equipped with lifts and a hydraulic crane. The gardening service will have two three-seater vehicles with an open tipping box and mesh sides, designed for transporting plant materials and tools.
The lift cart will facilitate repair, maintenance, and conservation work in parks, gardens, municipal buildings, and public roads, which until now was carried out from the City Council's own vehicle fleet. It will also be very useful for distributing infrastructure materials during recreational and festive activities in the locality.
With this addition, the municipal fleet of electric vehicles in Alaquàs now totals eight electric vehicles and two lift carts. The council's goal is to continue acquiring this type of vehicle to reduce the environmental impact of its services.
The arrival of these vehicles represents a tangible improvement for the residents of Alaquàs, as it will allow urban maintenance work to be carried out with a lower carbon footprint and greater efficiency.
