The Alaquàs City Council maintains a continuous pest control service that operates every week in one of the four sections of the municipality, thus covering the entire area each month.

The Alaquàs City Council continues to develop the municipal pest control service uninterruptedly throughout the year. Weekly actions are aimed at preventing and controlling the presence of mosquitoes, rodents, and cockroaches in the municipality.

To ensure constant, effective, and sustainable action, the municipality has been divided into four sections. Each week, interventions are carried out in one of them, so that by the end of each month, the entire municipal area has been addressed, both in the urban core and in the industrial estate.

This planning allows for continuous monitoring throughout the year and reinforces prevention against potential outbreaks. The Public Health department explains that the service includes DDD treatments (Disinfection, Insect Control, and Rodent Control), as well as specific actions against the common mosquito and the tiger mosquito.

Work is carried out in the sewer network, public roads, green areas, educational centres, sports facilities, municipal buildings, and industrial estates. In addition to the weekly planning, the contracted company responds immediately to reports and incidents that may occur at any point in the municipality.

During this month of July, the scheduled actions have continued to be executed both in the urban area and in the industrial estate, within the usual work calendar that is carried out throughout the year.

Prevention is fundamental, and that is why we maintain an active service throughout the twelve months of the year, with weekly actions that allow us to control the entire municipality in a continuous and planned manner," highlights the Public Health department.

The Alaquàs City Council thanks the collaboration of the citizens and reminds them of the importance of reporting any incidents to continue improving the effectiveness of the service. The Public Health department is available to residents from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 2 pm, and on Monday afternoons from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Incidents can be reported via email at salutpublica@alaquas.org or by calling 961 51 94 00 and 674 24 63 97. This direct channel allows for a quick and effective response whenever necessary.

The pest control service is one of the most requested actions by residents, especially in the warmer months when mosquitoes proliferate. The weekly rotation by sections ensures that no area is left unattended for long periods.

The department reminds that citizen collaboration is key to detecting outbreaks early. Therefore, it encourages residents to report any sightings of pests or accumulation of stagnant water that may favour their reproduction.
