Mislata will celebrate its patron and popular festivals from August 20 to September 5, with 80 events for all audiences, according to the City Council.
The City Council of Mislata and the two clavaries of the city have presented the programme for the Patron and Popular Festivals 2026, which will take place from August 20 to September 5. The programme includes more than 80 events, including a giant paella, the Grand Moorish Entry, concerts, processions, fireworks, and children's activities, according to municipal sources.
The patron festivals, which will be held from August 20 to 31, are organised by the Clavaría of the Virgen de los Ángeles and that of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe, which this year commemorate their 50th anniversary. The kick-off will be on Thursday, August 20, with the Giant Paella from the Clavaría of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe in the Plaza de la Constitución.
The patron programme includes the I Remember Festival on August 21 and 22 in the Plaza Mayor; the Grand Moorish Entry on Sunday, August 23, which will parade through the central streets to the Plaza de la Constitución; and the XLVII Festival of Music Bands on Monday, August 24, featuring performances by CIM Mislata and La Primitiva de Llíria.
Among the traditional events are children's games and the Holi Run on August 25, the passejàs of the Virgen de los Ángeles and the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe, the Entrà de la Murta, the Nit d'Albaes, the daytime and nighttime mascletàs, and the processions on August 30 and 31. Gastronomy will have its space with the Paella Contest on August 29 and afternoons of traditional games with xocolatà.
The mayor of Mislata, Carlos Fernández Bielsa, has highlighted that "this year we wanted the festivals to once again offer a wide and diverse programme, capable of bringing together in our streets both the traditions that are part of Mislata's history and new proposals for enjoying with family and friends." He particularly emphasised "the musical commitment of the popular festivals, with concerts by well-known groups and artists such as Celtas Cortos, Dorian, and Fangoria, in addition to orchestras, the Remember Festival, and other performances that will make the fairgrounds one of the major meeting points during these days."
The Popular Festivals, organised by the City Council, will kick off on Tuesday, September 1, after the main day on August 31. The Fairgrounds, located on Hospital Street with access from Plaza de la Libertad, will open every evening at 7:00 PM. The programme includes a costume parade with the show Guardians of the Rainbow by Yera Teatre, the Night of Pinchos with the Penya Els Tronats, a correfoc between Plaza Príncipe de Asturias and Plaza de la Libertad, and the nighttime mascletà from Pirotecnia del Mediterráneo on the last day.
Music will take centre stage at the fairgrounds with the orchestras Scream, La Tribu, and Montecarlo, and concerts by Celtas Cortos, Dorian, Zulú, and Fangoria. There will also be a tribute to Pereza, Hombres G, and El Canto del Loco (Voy a Pasármelo Bien), a homage to Bad Bunny (La Casita del Perreo), and a session of the Remember Festival with DJs Víctor Pérez, Arturo Roger, and Jesús Brisa.
As in previous editions, the venue will have a fixed Police Command Point, the Violet Point, the UPCCA space, and the Breastfeeding Point, to ensure safe, inclusive, and accessible festivals. Additionally, from September 1 to 5, there will be a free urban bus service with stops at various points in the city and adapted access for people with reduced mobility.
