Oliva experienced the 'demanà' of its Fallera Mayores 2027, Alba Cabrera and Tania Gisbert, on Saturday, August 22, in an unprecedented event featuring two protagonists.
On August 22, the Parque de l'Hort de la Bosca in Oliva hosted the traditional 'demanà' of the Fallera Mayores of 2027, Alba Cabrera and Tania Gisbert. For the first time in the town, the event had two protagonists, as this year sees the introduction of the Fallera Mayor Infantil, a role that Tania takes on alongside Alba.
The ceremony was attended by the mayor, Yolanda Pastor, the councillor for Festivals, Álvaro Sánchez, and several councillors and representatives from various municipal political groups. Following tradition, both falleras responded to the question posed by the mayor, thus taking their first step as the highest representatives of the Fallas of Oliva.
The councillor for Festivals, Álvaro Sánchez, wanted to congratulate the new falleras:
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Alba and Tania on this very special year ahead of them. I am sure that, accompanied by their Honour Courts, they will be magnificent ambassadors for our festivities.
For her part, Mayor Yolanda Pastor wished them a year of Fallas filled with emotions:
From the Oliva City Council, we wish Alba and Tania a wonderful Fallas year. You can expect days full of emotions, joy, pride, and satisfaction for representing the festival you love so much. Best wishes for a Fallas year in which you will shine more than ever.
With this event, Oliva officially begins the journey towards the 2027 festivities, a year in which the city will have two representatives who will embody the local Fallas tradition. The new falleras will now start a schedule of events and preparations for the upcoming Fallas.
