From August 4 to 8, the Turia Gardens will host the U23 B Pool 2026 European Championship, with the Spanish team seeking historic promotion.
The municipal baseball and softball facilities in Section IV of the Turia Gardens will become the epicentre of European baseball from August 4 to 8 with the celebration of the U23 B Pool 2026 European Championship. Seven national teams, including Spain, Greece, Switzerland, and Turkey, will compete in a tournament that is being held in the city for the first time.
The Councillor for Sports, Rocío Gil, has encouraged citizens to visit the facilities from day one: “We encourage citizens to come and enjoy this sporting event from August 4, a great opportunity to meet the rising stars of Spanish and international baseball.”
The Spanish team, placed in Group B alongside Greece and Switzerland, approaches the tournament with a clear objective: to secure the only promotion spot that grants access to the U23 European Championship in 2027, where the best teams in the continent will compete. This would be the first Spanish team to achieve promotion from this category.
The tournament, organised by the Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation, will demand the highest level from the start, as only the champion will obtain the ticket to the top European category. This event represents a historic opportunity for the national team, which will play in front of its home crowd.
The choice of Valencia as the host city once again highlights the quality of its municipal sports facilities and its experience in hosting major baseball and softball events. The Turia Gardens complex has hosted national championships, European competitions, and various international events in recent years, establishing itself as a reference point for federations.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the championship will attract athletes, coaches, referees, and companions from different countries, generating economic activity and projecting Valencia's image as a destination for hosting major international sporting events.
