Valencia City Council is investing €8.1 million in the new Sant Isidre sports centre, which will be completed by the end of this year. The pavilion will have two floors and a basement.
The new Sant Isidre sports centre now has a completion date. The works, which started months ago, will conclude by the end of this year, as confirmed by Valencia City Council. The investment exceeds €8.1 million.
The Councillor for Sports, Rocío Gil, highlighted that this facility responds to a long-standing community demand. “Since 2007, the residents of Sant Isidre have been requesting a sports facility of this kind,” she recalled.
The project is located on a plot of 3,951 square metres between the streets of Arquitecto Segura de Lago and Mariano de Cavia. The building will feature two floors and a basement, and will include a multi-sport court measuring 45x25 metres, two multi-sport rooms, a climbing wall, and four team changing rooms.
It will also have a 400 square metre heated water area, with a swimming pool measuring 20x10 metres and 1.40 metres deep. The pavilion will be able to host high-level competitions and other events, according to the same sources.
The works were awarded for €8,102,320.58 in a tender that received bids from 13 companies. The expected execution period is 17 months.
With this facility, the Sant Isidre neighbourhood will no longer be the only area in the zone without a sports facility of this kind. It will be the third new sports centre to be launched during this term, following Nou Moles in 2024 and Parc Central this summer.
The building will also include a first aid room, reception, secretarial and management offices, and auxiliary spaces. The expectation is that residents will be able to start using it at the beginning of next year.
