The Town Hall of Tavernes de la Valldigna has welcomed 19 new Local Police officers after they passed the selection process. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the plenary hall.
The Town Hall of Tavernes de la Valldigna welcomed 19 new Local Police officers on Thursday, who have now taken up their positions as career civil servants. The event, held in the plenary hall of the council, was attended by the mayor, Lara Romero; the councillor for Personnel and Citizen Security, Emilio Fonseca, and the chief of the Local Police, Israel Triviño.
The new officers signed the record and took their oath after passing a selection process that lasted a year. With this addition, the force is strengthened to meet the needs of the municipality.
The mayor highlighted that the arrival of these officers allows for “adequately reinforcing and sizing the workforce” and improves operational capacity, preventive presence, and response to any incidents. Romero emphasised that citizen security has been a priority of this term.
The characteristics of our municipality require a Local Police force that is prepared, trained, and perfectly coordinated in the face of flooding, forest fires, or other emergency situations,” the mayor stated.
For his part, councillor Emilio Fonseca explained that filling these positions is part of the government project to achieve “a more prepared, closer police force with all the necessary resources”. Chief Israel Triviño reviewed the process and highlighted that it is part of the strategic project initiated in 2024.
After a year of selection process, we are incorporating 19 officers into the strategic project that seeks a police force that is closer, inclusive, and proactive. The citizens of Tavernes have reason to celebrate,” Triviño affirmed.
With this action, the council reaffirms its commitment to the safety and surveillance of the municipality, with more personnel for the protection and attention of the residents. The new officers will take up their duties immediately.
