The City Council of Sueca has added four new employees to its staff thanks to the EMCORP, EMDONA, and ETRAME programmes from Labora, with a total investment of 127,290 euros, of which 42,101 euros come from municipal funds.
The City Council of Sueca has expanded its staff with the addition of four new workers who will perform functions in the Animal Welfare and Social Action departments. The hiring is part of the employment programmes EMCORP, EMDONA, and ETRAME from Labora, and involves a total investment of 127,290 euros, of which 85,180 euros are financed by the Valencian Employment and Training Service and 42,101 euros correspond to a municipal contribution.
The new hires have been driven by the Local Development Agency (ADL), in coordination with the involved municipal areas. The acting mayor, Pilar Moncho, has highlighted that these hires will strengthen key services, especially the Animal Welfare department, which lacked sufficient personnel to meet its responsibilities.
Today we welcome four workers who will join two departments of the council, especially in the Animal Welfare department which lacked staff, and therefore, these hires will help create the necessary structure to optimise the work,” Moncho stated.
The councillor also emphasised the role of the council in providing municipal funding to these Labora programmes so they can be developed, complementing salaries according to the council's Job Position Relationship.
The EMCORP and EMDONA programmes, aimed at promoting the hiring of young people and unemployed women, will reinforce the Animal Welfare department for the next ten months. The hired individuals will perform functions as veterinary assistants and agricultural technicians, with technical and administrative support tasks in service management, citizen assistance, and the development of actions regarding animal protection and welfare.
The councillor for Animal Welfare, Xavi Fos, explained that these programmes are key to providing structure to a department in creation, with which the municipal government aims to tackle challenges such as the control of feline colonies, animal abandonment, and the regularisation of a municipal ordinance on animal welfare.
Thanks to these programmes, we will be able to equip the Animal Welfare department, which is in creation and is an objective to be achieved by the municipal government, with which we intend to address the challenges of the functioning of feline colonies, animal abandonment, and the regularisation of a municipal ordinance on animal welfare, as mandated by law, among others,” Fos stated.
On the other hand, through the ETRAME programme, aimed at favouring the labour insertion of unemployed individuals with priority attention, the City Council incorporates two workers who will perform functions as public works labourers and cleaning staff in the Social Action department for the next nine months.
The councillor for Social Action, Sari Sáez, has positively evaluated the initiative, which represents a job opportunity for residents of the municipality and a reinforcement for her department.

With this action, the City Council of Sueca continues its commitment to active employment policies, a line of work it has been developing in recent years that seeks to improve public services while facilitating the labour insertion of groups with difficulties accessing the job market.
