The patron saint festivities of Puerto de Sagunto will take place from August 1 to 15 with a programme that includes bullfighting events, orchestras, children's activities, and the Red Bull Cucañas.

The Valencian town of Puerto de Sagunto has already set the dates for its patron saint festivities in 2026. The Federation of Peñas, along with the Department of Festivals and Popular Culture of the Sagunto City Council, has presented a programme that will run from August 1 to 15, combining traditional events with musical proposals and activities for the whole family.

The celebration will kick off earlier than expected. On Friday, July 31, at 20:00, the fairground will be inaugurated by the peña El Bocata. On Saturday, August 1, at 23:15, the peñas and residents will gather at the roundabout of Periodista Azzati with Avenida Camp de Morvedre to start a parade with a charanga and correfoc to the Tenencia de Alcaldía, where the chupinazo and the xopà will take place from midnight, organised by the peña La Palmereta. This year's opening speech will be given by the Club Deportivo Acero.

One of the highlights of the festivities will be the bullfighting events, which will take place from August 1 to 10 featuring livestock such as Fernando Machancoses, El Saliner, and Hermanos Bellés, among others. The bullfighting programme will be concentrated in the fairground and will be complemented by night verbenas.

The nights will be enlivened by a total of seven orchestras: Invictus, Wanda, Valparaíso, Evasión, Atlántida, La Flama, and Mónaco Party. Of these, the Sagunto City Council directly organises the performances of Invictus, Atlántida, and Mónaco Party, which will take place at the fairground of Puerto de Sagunto.

The programme includes special dates for all audiences. On Sunday, August 2, the traditional paella contest will be held; on Wednesday, August 5, there will be a children's day with chupinazo, water inflatables, and other activities; on Thursday, August 6, the humour parade will arrive; on Wednesday, August 12, there will be a tribute to the elderly with the Day of the Elderly; and on Thursday, August 13, there will be a children's musical, The Jungle Book, and a tribute concert to Joaquín Sabina.

The grand finale will arrive on Saturday, August 15, with the Swimming Crossing and the anticipated Red Bull Cucañas, which this year have the collaboration of the energy drink brand. The champion or championess of the cucañas will receive two tickets for the Gran Premio de Motociclismo de la Comunitat Valenciana in the Álex Márquez Grandstand at the Cheste circuit. At 00:00, the fairground will host a fireworks display that will mark the end of the festivities.

For residents who wish to consult the details of all activities, the complete festival programme is available in PDF format on the Sagunto City Council website. The expectation is that the offer will combine tradition and novelties to maintain the appeal of festivities that bring together thousands of people in the maritime area every summer.

The organisation has worked on a calendar that seeks to balance the most rooted events with proposals aimed at family and youth audiences. The involvement of the peñas remains the backbone of the celebration, as demonstrated by their participation in the inauguration of the fairground, the chupinazo, and the xopà.

With these festivities, we want Puerto de Sagunto to once again be the centre of social and cultural life in the region for fifteen days, with activities for all tastes and ages.

The Sagunto City Council reminds that the events scheduled at the fairground are free to access and that participation in the cucañas and the swimming crossing requires prior registration, the deadlines and conditions of which will be announced soon through official channels.

The patron saint festivities of Puerto de Sagunto have established themselves as one of the most anticipated summer events in Camp de Morvedre. The combination of bullfighting events, live music, and children's activities ensures that both residents and visitors find a reason to visit the fairground during the first two weeks of August.
