The Cultural Management programme of the UP has mobilised over 40,000 people in nearly 1,400 activities outside the classrooms during the 2025/26 year. The Education councillor highlights the institution's role in access to culture.

València's Popular University has concluded the 2025/26 year with results that exceed expectations: over 40,000 attendances at sociocultural activities organised outside its classrooms. In total, nearly 1,400 activities have been scheduled, ranging from museum visits and guided tours to cinema, theatre, concerts, and workshops.

The Education councillor, Rocío Gil, emphasised that these results consolidate the Popular University as "one of the institutions in València that mobilises the largest number of people around cultural resources each year." According to Gil, the foundational goal of facilitating access to culture for all is being more than fulfilled.

The Cultural Management programme of the UP is distinguished by its focus on "management and dynamisation" to bring cultural resources closer to citizens. Gil defines it as "an added value" to the educational, recreational, and socialisation aspects, and considers it "a fundamental part of its uniqueness as a personal development, equality, coexistence, and social participation project."

The activities are classified into 30 different types, including cultural visits, outings to municipalities, exhibitions, workshops, dance performances, opera, talks, film forums, round tables, conferences, recitals, literary presentations, and discussions. The programming has been developed in the 31 UP centres spread across the city's neighbourhoods.

One of the pillars of the programme is Cultural Heritage and Museum Dissemination, which has recorded over 9,000 attendances at more than 25 museum spaces, including IVAM, MUVIM, and other facilities in the city. This line aims to bring heritage closer to residents, especially those living in neighbourhoods with less cultural offerings.

The dynamisation of these activities would not be possible without collaboration with community entities, sociocultural organisations, and local, national, and international institutions, as well as with municipal services in Education, Equality, Health, Heritage, or Environment, among others.

The cultural management project acts as a pillar to fulfil the foundational objectives of the UP, ensuring a quality, multidisciplinary, and inclusive lifelong learning. For the residents of València, this translates into a wide and accessible cultural offer that promotes coexistence and social participation.

The year's balance will be presented at the closing event, which will take place in the coming days at a venue yet to be confirmed. Those wishing to know the programming for the next year can consult the municipal website or visit any of the UP centres.
