The Local Police and the Civil Guard identify the occupiers of a building under construction on Alcalde Vicente Cremades Alcàsser avenue. The mayor calls for a change to the 'unjust legal framework'.
The City Council of Bétera has expressed its total rejection this Thursday of the occupation of a block of flats under construction on Alcalde Vicente Cremades Alcàsser avenue. A group of people accessed the property during the early hours and occupied the entire building.
Officers from the Bétera Local Police and the Civil Guard from the Main Post of Bétera arrived at the scene after receiving the alert. The officers proceeded to identify the occupants and relayed the information to the Guardia Court of Llíria, which has taken charge of the investigation.
The mayor of Bétera, Elia Verdevío, has expressed her solidarity with the family who owns the building, who are suffering due to this situation. In statements recorded by the council, she assured that they are fully available to collaborate and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
We demand that Justice acts firmly in response to this occupation in the municipality,” Verdevío emphasised.
The mayor also urged state legislators to change what she considers an “unjust legal framework” that does not protect property owners, in order to put an end to the impunity of such actions that, in her words, go against civic coexistence.
The City Council of Bétera is working in coordination with the Local Police and the Civil Guard to ensure safety in the vicinity of the occupied property and the peace of the local residents.
