The eighth stage of La Vuelta 26, starting in Puçol and finishing in Xeraco, will pass through L'Eliana on Saturday, August 29. The Town Hall is seeking volunteers for the support team.
La Vuelta 26 will once again cross L'Eliana. It will be on Saturday, August 29, during the eighth stage, a flat day of 171 kilometres between Puçol and Xeraco. The cycling tour, which will take place from August 22 to September 13, will consist of 21 stages and a total of 3,275 kilometres, starting in Monaco and finishing in Granada, next to the Alhambra.
This will be the third time the race passes through the municipality, following the two days experienced in 2019. The organisation anticipates a large deployment to ensure the safety of both the peloton and the fans who come to watch.
The Town Hall of L'Eliana has made a call to the public to participate as volunteers in the support team during the race's passage. Interested individuals must register in advance through the form provided by the council.
Additionally, it is mandatory to attend an information meeting on Friday, August 28 at 12:00 noon in the Town Hall's Plenary Hall. The meeting will explain the functions of the volunteers, the schedules, the meeting points, and all necessary instructions to ensure the day runs smoothly.
The Town Hall encourages residents to join this initiative and experience from within the passage of one of the country's main sporting events. Citizen collaboration will be key to ensuring everything proceeds safely.
Stage 8, with a mostly flat route, is one of the few opportunities that sprinters will have before the mountain stages. The peloton is expected to pass through L'Eliana in the mid-afternoon, although the final timings will be confirmed closer to the date.
