The Sociedad Anónima de Gestión (SAG) of Sagunto has initiated the distribution of nearly 460 preventive bracelets against heatstroke among its staff. This measure, which involves an investment of around 18,000 euros, prioritises employees who work outdoors or in conditions of greater exposure to high temperatures.
The first phase of distribution is already underway and affects staff from beaches, street cleaning, markets, brigades, cranes, signage, bin changes, and workshops. In a second phase, urban cleaning service drivers, as well as cleaning staff for public buildings and maintenance of schools and cemeteries, will receive the devices.
The initiative is complemented by informative talks explaining prevention measures and guidelines for action in the event of potential risks. Practical guides are also being distributed among workers to enhance awareness of the effects of heat during the working day.
SAG plans to progressively extend the use of these bracelets to all its services, including drivers who work in air-conditioned vehicles. The aim is to maintain a uniform criterion and ensure that all staff have access to this preventive tool.
The acquisition of the bracelets reinforces measures to protect employees' health during episodes of intense heat, especially in services involving outdoor work. This action is part of adapting working conditions to high temperatures, a growing problem in the Camp de Morvedre region.
Workers who have already received the bracelets wear them during their shifts, allowing for the detection of risk signs and prompt action. The public company will continue distribution in the coming weeks until all staff have received their bracelets.
