This year, the municipal programme for the Moros y Cristianos festival in Ontinyent features 18 musical proposals, with concerts, orchestras, and DJs at La Glorieta and the Museu del Tèxtil starting this Tuesday.
The musical programme for the Moros y Cristianos festival in Ontinyent reaches 18 proposals this year, an offering that will be spread throughout the Setmana Gran between La Glorieta and the Museu del Tèxtil. The councillor for Fairs, Festivals, and Traditions, Àngels Muñoz, highlighted that the aim is for music to be "one of the key elements" of the festivities, allowing people of different ages and tastes to find a proposal to enjoy.
Activities kick off this Tuesday at La Glorieta with La Nit Gran, starting at 19:30 with the musical show 'Divas Rebeldes'. At 21:30, a popular dinner is scheduled, which this year has set a participation record with over 450 people registered, featuring entertainment by Lorena and Esteban. From 1:00 AM, the discomóvil La Gran Verbena Discomóvil MKM will offer an alternative aimed especially at the young audience.
On Wednesday the 19th, the highlight will be the performance by singer Gisela and 'La veu de Disney', a show that interprets some of the best-known soundtracks from the Disney universe, aimed at children and families. La Glorieta will continue to be one of the main stages during the central days: on Thursday the 20th, during the Alardo night, the discomóvil S.O.S. will perform; on Friday the 21st, during the Entrada Mora night, it will be the turn of the Orquesta Mónaco; on Saturday the 22nd, Fercho Energy will present their Full Show; and on Sunday the 23rd, the Orquesta Montecarlo will close the programme in this space.
The Museu del Tèxtil will again be a major meeting point with the second edition of La Gran, an open space from Monday the 17th to Monday the 24th of August that combines music, gastronomy, and activities for all audiences. The musical proposal began on Monday with a performance by Ay Trick during the inauguration, joined by Asesinos de la Rumba and Borja Sax. This Tuesday, the programme continues at noon with Ivan Lane in acoustic.
On Wednesday the 19th, the Museu del Tèxtil will host DJ LaGran at 19:00. On Thursday the 20th, Rubén Terol will perform acoustically at 13:00, and at 21:00, following the event by Chimo in the main square, it will be Limbotheque's turn. On Friday the 21st, during the Entrada, Soulomonics will perform around 13:00, after the Children's Entrada. On Saturday the 22nd, the xaranga Baloo's Band will take over at 13:00, while on Sunday the 23rd, it will be the turn of Dani Nelo Organs Trio, also at 13:00, featuring saxophonist Dani Nelo. On Monday the 24th, the xaranga El Dólar will conclude the events with performances at noon and in the afternoon, at 13:00 and 20:00.
Residents and visitors who wish to enjoy this programme have the opportunity to do so at varied times, both at noon and in the afternoon and evening, with offerings ranging from intimate acoustic sets to large orchestras and discomóviles. Entry to the concerts and activities is free, according to the municipal programme, allowing participation in the festivities at no additional cost.
