The Local Government Board approves the management model for the future Sant Isidre sports centre and the feasibility study to renovate the CDC Marxalenes, with an investment of over 5.2 million.
The Valencia City Council has taken a firm step towards modernising its sports facilities. This Friday, the Local Government Board approved two key agreements: the legal regime for the management of the new Sant Isidre Sports Centre and the cost structure of the Cultural Sports Centre (CDC) of Marxalenes, which will allow for its comprehensive renovation.
The new Sant Isidre sports centre will be incorporated as a municipal public sports service and will be managed through a service concession of four and a half years. This model, approved alongside the economic-financial feasibility study, includes a minimum initial investment of €53,680.36 allocated for furniture, IT equipment, and small sports materials.
The concession, which does not include construction works, will allow bidding companies to enhance the minimum services provided. The City Council thus sets the foundations for expanding the offer of quality physical activity and facilitating access to sports for the citizens in this neighbourhood of Valencia.
Comprehensive renovation of CDC Marxalenes
In the case of the CDC Marxalenes, the Government Board has definitively approved the cost structure and its price revision formula, which will be incorporated into the new bidding documents. This document has been prepared after consulting five economic operators in the sector.
Approval has also been given to the feasibility study for the concession, which includes the execution of works. The construction preliminary project defines the necessary investments to adapt and update the centre, with a base bidding budget of €5,264,439.27. This amount will be used to renew spaces and equipment to adapt the facility to the current needs of users.
The exploitation preliminary project, for its part, establishes the services, activities, minimum personnel, and reference pricing regime. Among the planned improvements are the modernisation of the sports offer, the enhancement of spaces for physical activity, and the improvement of usage conditions.
Both preliminary projects will now be subject to public information for a month, starting from the day after their publication. This period will allow residents and entities to submit objections before the final approval.
With these agreements, the Valencia City Council consolidates its sports planning. The processing of CDC Marxalenes is moving towards a concession that will ensure the continuity and improvement of the service, while Sant Isidre prepares to open its doors as a new public facility.
Citizens will be able to consult the files during the public exhibition period and make any contributions they deem appropriate. The next step will be the bidding of both contracts, which is expected to occur in the coming months.
These actions are part of the council's effort to update the city's sports infrastructures, improving the quality of life for residents and promoting healthy habits.
